Turtle Beach, Kyrenia
Turtle Beach, or Alagadi Beach as it was originally known, lies east of the major town of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. The golden sandy beach is protected by a range of sand dunes which rise up to the rear of the beach, making it difficult for those visitors with disabilities to gain access to the beach itself. The beach itself, is one of those truly special places thanks to the rare green and loggerhead sea turtles who come here to lay their eggs. As you would expect visitors are required to respect the turtles, and as such must only use the areas marked out, although this is only when the turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.
